F150 transmission

saw in a magazine that ford and gm joined forces and the two built a 10 speed tranny. ford will be coming out with it in the F150 and gm will come out in one of their hot rod cars. they say it is very smooth shifting and tows like a charm

Companies legally can develop hardware together as long as they part ways to manufacture and tune it, as GM and Ford say they will.

One did the 9 speed and the other did the 10 as a side note Ford and GM are not strangers in the transmission arena, they teamed up on their six speeds also.

You must not get out much old guy 😉 they teamed upped after FCA announced they were going to use the ZF 8 speed and a new FCA/ZF 9 speed starting in 2013.

Ford already has this transmission available in the 2017 model.

Will be interesting to see how it works! Ford has hit the jackpot before with their Ecoboost engine, maybe they can do it again.
