F250 6.2L 3.73 4x4 Super Crew MPG

Looking at this unit for a pop-up truck camper. What can I expect in town and on the hwy with out camper. The camper will weigh 2200# ready to go. Not sure how much mileage will drop? Usually stay at 65-70 on freeway.

I was thinking the same thing. My 03 Burb with the 8.1 gets around 8-9 mpg towing my 6500 pound boat at 70-75 mph.

I guess my mileage isn't really terrible.

I went yesterday.. for a ride with wife... total of 200 miles and averaged 19.1 mpg.. 55 to 60 in the Carolina's....

coming down here from Ohio.. 17,000 pounds total rolling.. 9.1 with a 30 foot travel trailer.

but mine is 2 wheel drive. Your Mileage Will Vary ...

My mileage isn't as optimistic as some here.
Had a '13 model 6.2 EC/LB, 4x4, 3.73 and my 15 is identical. Average commuting, mostly hiway with tool box and slip tank around 1klb in the bed mileage is about 12.5 off the readout. This is with the weenie 245 factory tires which throw off the speedo a few mph to the low side. Trucks speedo is calculated for the larger tires offered on the up scale models.
Towing heavy low profile flatbed trailer 8-14klb knocks it down to about 9mpg.
Towing 4000lb cargo trailer 8-9mpg.
Put 285s on the 13 truck and that took another 1/2 mpg off but the speedo was reading right with the taller tires.
Never hand calculated mileage on either truck but it doesn't seem far off. It sucks the gas down.
I don't baby it though. You'll never see me hanging out in the right lane doing 55 regardless of what's hooked to the back. If you hyper mile it, you could get a coup,e mpgs better probably.
70mph with a little pop up you might see 10mpg.

My last trip was 2500 miles with mountain driving in Colorado, we got average of 11- 1/4 miles per gallon with the lance 825.

I have a 2015 6.2 3.73,4x4 Scab short bed
I get 10-11 around town and 11-12.5 on hiway @ 68mph
I have 3200lb payload and the pop up is 1750 lbs wet
This is with camper on truck all the time.
Get an upgraded suspension.
in Ariz the camper pac with 6.2 could not be found,but the sno plow pac was on a lot of work trucks,you know the ugly white XL

On my 6.2 I get 9 to 11 towing a 6200# TT at 60 mph. around town 13. Hiway 15-16 at freeway speeds. Hard to keep foot out of it! Enjoy driving this truck.

The rule around here is there is no such thing as too much truck, but in this case, that might not hold true if fuel mileage is a concern.

My overall unloaded average is 12 mpg, 14- 15 highway, 7 - 9 towing an 8000 lb Rv.
I suspect with a low profile camper you would be at 10 mpg like lawnspecialties said.

Mine gets around 14 on the highway. I get around 7-8 pulling my landscape trailer around town. I also get the same when I was using it to pull our Work & Play.

My guess is you'll see around 10 if its aerodynamic and you can keep it around 65mph. Close to 70 mph and it takes a toll on mpg.
