Factory warranty extended?

Does anyone have any personal experience (or read about it occurring) where the factory extends the warranty? I'm asking because our 2013 Keystone Premier 32bh has been at Camping World multiple times for warranty work. Because of the delay of getting the parts it seems that we are losing out on our warranty time.

Get this :M
I'm also fed up with Camping World. The service person is a putz. He told me on Friday that none of the parts have arrived. He said that they have been trying to contact Keystone and Keystone is not returning their phone calls. I said Ok, I'll reach out to Keystone. He said that would probably help a lot. So, I sent Keystone and email (to the person I had worked with in the past) and she promptly emailed me back. Camping World did have two of the parts already. So, my husband went there today and the service person tried to say that he didn't tell me that. My husband kept telling him, no, you told my wife that none of the parts arrived. Finally, he started back pedaling and admitted that he didn't know how to get to the screens to see if any of the parts have indeed arrived. I'm fuming!! Needless to say we are requesting to work with a different service person. They could have installed the parts that had arrived several weeks ago.

UGH!!

Thanks for the tip. I'll research that and see what I find and share.

I beleive there is a law that requires them to extend the orignal warranty by the number of "loss of use" days if you RV is unavailable to you becasue of a fault being corrected my the warranty.

You may need to do some searching for the actual requirments...and it may be state specific but I didn't think so.

You may want to start with the Federal Magnuson-Mass Warranty ACT

Yes. Back in '04 I purchased a Starcraft lemon that had a series of major issues. The problems started on the first trip and were too numerous to cover here. The largest issue flooded the trailer filling the plumbing runs under the floor with water. The trailer went back to the factory twice. With my persistence my bumper to bumper warranty was extended by 1 year and I was given a lifetime warranty against delamination and mold issues. They honored the delam warranty a couple years later when the water damage began to show. They would have been money ahead to replace the trailer like I wanted in the first place.

Forest River does offer an extra year of factory warranty. I just bought it for my Columbus fifth wheel for $150. I don't know if Keystone does this. Good luck.

When I purchased my Rockwood I was offered an extended FACTORY warranty for $100.00. I accepted the offer and it saved me approximately $40.00 on the one warranty concern I had during the two years the factory warranty was in effect which means it actually cost me $60.00. Hard to imagine anyone will issue a factory warranty on an RV that has been used by anyone. It's possible your problem is the DEALER not the manufacturer though. If you leave a deposite when parts are ordered they should be able to let you use the RV until all parts have arrived then call you in for repairs. No reason they CAN'T do that so it never hurts to ask.

I've never heard of the factory extending a warranty because the "item" was simply not being used (or in your case, sitting in a repair shop waiting to be fixed either).

If you need the extended warranty, you'll probably have to pay for it, get one of those extended plans. Sorry for your delays. FYI, Keystone IS having problems delivering. I'm waiting on a part (through my dealer) for my Outback. My dealer (repair shop) told me when I brought it in, it might be a while, as Keystone's deliveries have really slowed down due to the weather in Northern Indiana. I'm expecting a 3 week wait. One week has already passed. It's not the dealer's fault if the parts don't come in.

Also, they are probably waiting till all the parts come in and then fix everything at once. Otherwise, they're constantly moving RV's in and out of their shops. Every time they move one, there's a risk (on their part) something could get damaged. Although they are professionals, they still use caution and don't move them around any more than they have to.
