Is it ok to put a cover over my fantastic fan so I can use it in damp conditions? I wasn't sure if it would restrict air flow. Thanks.
Sure you can if it's an RV vent cover specially made for vent fans. I like to run my fan all summer long, rain and shine, during the triple digit summers to keep the TC aired out. - dakonthemountaiExplorerWhat Mello Mike said.... Be sure to get a vent cover MEANT for power vents like the high velocity Fantastic Vent fan, otherwise you WILL restrict the air flow.
Cheers!
Dak - BedlamModeratorWe use a large Camping World cover over ours. There is a smaller cheaper model that will limit flow which I would not recommend.
- IvylogExplorer IIIUnless you run the fan on high, buy the less expensive ones. I silcone mine on and they last about 10 years before the sun gets them. Was surprised how much more the smoke colored ones block the light.
- dlduke01ExplorerAny recommendations on a vent I should get?

We have two of the Fantastic Fans in our TC. I was afraid to run them for very long thinking they would burn-up from overuse. Do they really last a long time? - HMS_BeagleExplorerI've run my Fantastic fans for long periods over many years in 4 different RVs. In the MH, the one over the bed ran pretty much all night, all summer/fall, for 5 years. Never burned one up. If you do, replacement motors are available.
Fantastic now makes a rain cover specifically for their fan, the Ultrabeeze referenced above.
Fantastic is one of a very few high quality products in the RV business, in my opinion. - towproExplorerI would go with the cover fantastic fan makes for there fan
- trailgranny50ExplorerWhen we installed ours to replace old standard dying vent fan in bathroom it was automatic for us to also install the cover made specifically for it. Seen way too many campers of all kinds flying down the road with uncovered vents flapping in the breeze and eventually ripping off. Now if one could be invented for the escape hatch that would not inhibit emergency exit but alow it to be left open in inclimate weather without flooding the bed, camping life would be perfect! Well, more perfect.
