installing fantastic vent

before trip i want to install 2 fantastic fans.
am told to use dicor self-level to cover screws and around vent.
Dicor BT-1834-1 1/8" x 3/4" x 30' Butyl Seal Tape, i see other manufactures, bit isn't Dicor the best to punt on fan to seal it.
also i read some used Eternabond tape instead of butyl tape????
i want to tape my roof seams also, is 3,4,or 6" needed
thanks
alos dong the slide seal, 3, 4, or 6"
  • I use the 4" Eternabond tape to cover the screws and seal the Fantastic vent to the roof and then use Dicor self leveling along the edge of the tape to prevent lifting.
minimum 4" when taping the front and rear seams.

That's what I did when I installed my MaxxAir vent.
  • I see I can purchase a roller to put down the tape. is it easy to put down even though it s going over the screw holes.
  • yes...Eternabond is very pliable. Just be sure to clean the surface well with Eternabond cleaner, acetone or mineral spirits and read/follow directions provided by Eternabond.
