First time pulling a fifth wheel.....ever.
We picked up our first fifth wheel today. Sold the TT about a week ago. Dropped a B&W Companion in the 2012 ram 3500 and made the round trip to get the fifth. Pulled like a dream.

The hitch is mounted in the middle height position and all the way forward. I think I need to go down to the lowest position. The trailer is just a hair nose high. My buddy that dropped off the trailer has the same truck as me and his hitch was in the lowest postion also.
As for squat, the truck squats until the bed rails look pretty much level.

Nice catch :W Maybe he just picked it up at a nice drop off spot. I only use the flipped up method when towing myself. Some guys hate the change though so they leave em up 24-7.
Heck you new truck owners don't even have to put down the window for the switch. Good thing too cause your arm would be really wet lately :E Guess the drought is over in Texas till next year anyway.Cummins12V98 wrote:

Geeze I figured I would get that from Fish! HA- Congrats. At least you have the right sized truck for that beast. I kid you not I saw about the same size TH yesterday hooked up to a newer Ram 2500 I think.
He kind of lost me at a traffic light but I'm pretty sure it was a 2500 cause you should have seen that thing squat.
