Your expectations are different than what the 6.2 wants to deliver.
This engine loves to work between 3000 and 4000 RPMs. And if it has to do it in 3rd then that that's where the transmission puts it. I rarely see anything over 4000.
It has just as much torque as your EB, just at higher RPMs.
Put it in tow haul, lock out 6th and drive the snot out of it. And enjoy the sound of a V8.
