One size does not fit all. I have a 2012 F150 EB SCREW with te 5.5 ft bed, Max Tow package (3.73 Rear End, trailer mirrors) and tow my trailer no problem. I come in under payload even FULLY loaded bed with DW and 2 boys (and me of course) in the cab. Trailer weighs in at about 8,400 loaded. I've towed it up hills, down hills, through 25-30 MPH winds, all with no problem. I won't address the 1/2 vs 3/4 argument that seems to always go on, I will only say that my EcoBoost works perfect for me and I wouldn't trade it for a 3/4 ton because I have no use for a 3/4 ton.
