Guessing the regular cab trucks aren't as popular due to storage limitations, but interested to see pictures of folks rigs and what campers you decided on. Harder to find pictures of these trucks on google images as it seems most have supercabs or crew cabs. I've got an F250 4x4 SRW 7.3 with many upgrades but still limited by the stamped weight limits. I see folks hauling some crazy campers with these and have to guess that they are running overweight. I'm shopping campers right now, so any feedback regarding how you like your camper is definitely welcome!

Of course we ran overweight, but we researched the axle capacity, changed out the tires and wheels, put Rancho shocks on, and added springs to some.One tough truck indeed. Adding power to the engine does not help the carrying capacity though, it only makes it more dangerous because you go faster.

I've put a lot of money into 'go fast stuff' on mine to haul over the mountain passes around here, which I still can't even do the speed limit on. Likewise, I seldom ever do the posted speed limit, especially in the 70mph zones. I don't see why going up Snoqualmie Pass at 50 in a 65 makes more dangerous from back when I was doing 40 in a 65. If anything, just the opposite.If I want to go fast, I take out my Corvette, not my fully loaded truck, TC and trailer.

My 2005 F250 extended cab short bed carried a 4000 lb Arctic Fox 811 while towing an 8000 lb 20' Interstate trailer.I now have a larger truck since we plan on going to a larger camper.

My biggest issue was the antenna hammering the cabover. I replaced mine with a shorter antenna that I bought from American Muscle that provides Mustang parts. http://www.americanmuscle.com/14inch-black-antenna-9404.html I didn't really have a problem with the overhang sticking out compared to a the Crew Cab I have now, otherwise.

got the same thing - 2000 Lance 835 EC on my single cab truck (2006 Silverado). I think you'll like it!

Beggars can't be choosers lol. One thing I observed about this site is people just like to share no matter how relevant. Its ok though I enjoyed the replies as i'm sure others did. Maybe in a year there will be more people coming out of the woodwork.

norcal, my truck is optioned exactly like yours. do you find with the added weight you use the crawler gear more? like the rear bumper setup as well, is that an aluminess?

Here is our 2000 F250, 7.3L Diesel, 6 Speed, 2WD, 8ft box, Reg Cab. Hauling our 2005 Shadow Cruiser Popup. I like being way under weight, I leave it on most of the time and hardly know it is there. We picked East/West sleeping so we didn't have the huge side overhang. Also like the narrower body and no over hang on the back so we can park pretty much go anyplace the pickup will fit.

Even 35" tires aren't necessarily an issue. My truck rides on 35" tires just fine. They are ProComp XMTs in size 305/70R18 (35x12x18)and can carry 3750lbs each at only 65psi.

DJ, are you running airbags or Timbrens when loaded? My stock suspensioned F350 carries the 3000ish+ pounds of our Outfitter and still sits slightly tail high when fully loaded.

My 35's are 12.5" wide with a max psi of 65. Not the most desirable for camper hauling!!

No air bags. 3500# frame mounted overloads. Do not affect empty ride.
