Ceded. Theoldwizard1 knows what he's talking about. However, I now have someone to blame for gallons of blood lost over the years and lots of bad words from removing and re-installing really hard to get to nuts and bolts, and sharp stuff that really looks like it's put there to cause harm on purpose! I would amend his statement, though. If you find more than expected debris in the drained fluid, I would recommend pulling the pan and seeing what else is in there. Changing the filter at this point would be a good idea.
And the reason he changed the fluids so early is that the customer wanted it done. He said that it an early fluid change.
