Ford truck build

I am trying to figure out the best way to get new truck build the way I like it at it turns impossible.
Don't want to spend extra $10k for options that I don't need, but when I use Ford site to built my truck and start with XL model, it will not let me choose several options like pearl paint, or tan interior.
Nor GPS, when I learned the the center console LCD is just for GPS, while backup camera is using lcd on reverse mirror.
Anybody build Ford Truck to his liking and can share experience here?
My main goal is to get supercab RWD, when those don't exist on dealers lots on whole West Coast (I check dealers in 1000 miles radius)

Unless you're planning on keeping the truck forever, and aren't concerned with resale value, think about what's popular options wise.
A 2wd, ext cab, XL, white diesel will not be worth squat down the road when you go to sell, nor will many be interested in it.
At very least get 4wd. You'll recoup more than the up charge now when you sell it.

Not true on the srw trucks at least. The base XL 17" wheels come with little 245s. The 20s offered are considerably taller. In fact the speedo calibration is off for the XL models. Reads several mph high at hwy speeds. 285-70-17 tires make the speedo read right.
Both my 13 and 15 XL 4wd were/are this way.

The picture is showing the sub structure under the truck bed. Nothing sticks above the floor at all until you remove the rubber plugs and insert either the gooseneck ball or a 5th wheel receiver. Forget about the factory bed mat and buy the heavy duty DeeZee from Amazon or locally. Any bed mat will work and the 5th wheel prep package will not interfere in any way. I have it on mine and other than the little rubber plugs flush to the bed you will never know the system is there.

Powerdude, don't forget the door width and angle of approach into the garage if it isn't flat.

You're at least farther than me in the process.

I'm just starting.

Leaning toward a long bed, but I measured my garage opening height, and it's 84 inches tall.

Problem is, the garage door has a hook-like adapter on the opener, probably for adjusting, that drops down to 81 point something inches.

4x4 F350 SRW is 80.8 inches tall, looks like they come with 18 inch wheels.

The F350 4x4 DRW lists as 79.9 inches tall, but normally takes 17 inch tires...

F250 4x4 SRW lists as 79.8 inches tall, probably because it only has 2" spacer blocks.

I'm scared I'm going to order something, and I take it into the garage the first time, and bust the windshield or dent the top of the cab roof...

My bolts on my BMC aren't above the grooves, but if that one is, I wouldn't get the fiver option either.

I was looking at your other options. I have a tailgate step in my tailgate. On the one hand, it's nice to get in the bed, but it does make a very heavy tailgate and a little more difficult to get the tailgate off/on. You might want to try lifting one off at the dealer before you go with it.

One more edit, I'd add the upfitter switches as well they are handy to add electrical accessories later, and I don't think they add much to the build cost but difficult to add after the build.

It is not the mat itself that is problem, but Ford.com suggest the hitch package will interfere with mat, meaning it will interfere with camper as well.
Probably something that needs actual seeing, but here is other picture. Looks like frame bolts stick up in the bed.

I'm sure the dealer can buy the mat. No assembly required. I'd get both, or buy an aftermarket mat like the Dee Zee Heavyweight Mat at Amazon or similar.

The picture is showing a gooseneck ball installed....the bed comes from the factory with some rubber plugs that fit flush to the bed of the truck. The electrical connect is on the drivers side at the rear of the bed just inside the tailgate. The package will accept the Reese Elite series receiver or BW Companion and there are adaptors available to allow using any fifth wheel hitch receiver.

Funny noticed it now, the Ford.com build me dually with 5 tires.
From what I noticed on the pictures, the new beds are all molded for 5th wheel hitch, but you might be right abut the framing under.
The package is $370 option what cover electrical.

Just another thought since you are ordering....consider having the factory gooseneck/5th wheel prep package installed. You may not use it but if you later decide to pull a fifth wheel or sell the truck its nice to have the substructure already installed and ready to accept a fifth wheel receiver or gooseneck ball. It is flush in the bed of the truck and won't interfere with a TC.

We have offer on the house, so my truck search is getting on higher gear.
Building the truck with fleet sales persons is not that easy as they usually send me to website. Than when I build the truck on net, the request is send automatically to my closest Ford dealer, who seems to know zip about duallies.
Anyway, those are the options I can put on XL build.
Still shy of GPS, custom paint, not sure what the power package covers.
Who has opinion about commanded regeneration?
Never had truck with one, but don't think I would like the process to start automatically going up to Sierra.

I am in SF area and check the guy in Fontana, but nothing special.
Dealer in Modesto is offering deep discount posted up front, but all they have are 3-4 loaded duallies.
Don't think you need to worry about lack of load on front axle with diesel.
My present RWD diesel has 4400lb on front axle and 3300lb on rear when empty.
