You are not getting a code because some SD trucks don't have full OBDII diagnostics! My X is one of them. I don't have misfire monitors, downstream O2's that monitor the cats, or an EGR monitor. That is how it was built. Almost anything with a GVWR over 8601lbs has Federal emissions. Cali trucks and a couple other states have Cali emissions with more stringent requirements.
