Forest river hitch ball size

Is a 2 and 5/16 ball standard on most travel trailers. And is standard on Forest river TT's.
  • 2 5/16 is pretty much standard with Travel Trailers. Should be stamped on the trailer tongue..Make sure and use the correct size.
  • It`s a weight thing. I had an Award TT that had a 5k lb GVWR and it had a 2" ball. I also have a 2" ball that has a 7k lb weight rating. but, basically any large TT takes a 2 5/16 ball.
  • A friend had an older Scamp trailer that had a 2" coupler.

With few exceptions that may apply to a very few small travel trailers - yes.
  • The size should be stamped on the coupler.

Everything you need to know about hitch balls can be found here.
  • Our Forest River popup was a 2" ball. I think it depends on weight.
