One of our keys for the front door in the trailer broke in half. Has anyone every had to replace one key? Not sure if a locksmith or Lowes can make a duplicate of the one we have left.

Suggestions?

Some years ago I wanted to have 2 more sets of keys for my trailer, could not find blanks at my hardware store and my dealer said he would have to order the blanks. I found my key maker FIC on the web and found my key(s) code in their listings and ordered my 2 sets I wanted , plus the famous 751 key 6 keys for under $15 to include shipping the best as I remember.

I had to get the blanks for mine from Camping World and a local locksmith in Savannah cut them for me. He did not have the blanks.

I could not find the correct blank anywhere. Ended up ordering the blanks through the dealer an having a local shop cut them.

a couple of years ago they had a big recall and provided replacement locks and a master key to remove old one.

First thing I always do is get a couple of spares, just in case, plus I have a spare in the truck. I usually go to ACE and get mine. I did go to a locksmith for one because it was entirely different type of key. ( lock had been changed by the former owner)

Depending on your brand just about every locksmith will have a blank. It may be a good time to remove the lock and have it rekeyed this way no other campers can access your rig. Some locks only have about 25 different keys for 2000 locks.A few years ago the the most fun at the campgrounds was seeing how many TT you could access with your key.

if the duplicate key works, any locksmith should be able to reproduce it. can you remove the mechanism from the door and take that in to a locksmith?
