This need to pitched to the axle manufacturers so it is available to trailer builders. They need to incorporate this into Dexter, Hendrickson and Rockwell axles. Lippert won't do this due the cost and will only switch once it sees sales slipping away to the others.

I wonder what the difference would be with just the trailer upgraded to disc brakes against the eboost.

It's about time. Hope this comes to fruition.
Problem is, people don't want to pay for anything that isn't superficial. It needs to be phased in like antilock brakes were.
