- CWSWineExplorerI wish they would put decals on them. Heck i opened up door of one and looked at the payload rating of 1900 lbs and thought I was looking at half ton but then realized that it was 2500 because it had diesel engine. Open the next one and had payload of 2000 but it was 1/2 ton. LOL

With no springs and 19.5" wheels/tires, I call it a SRW Heavy Hauler! It has more rear axle capacity than a 3500SRW, but less than a 3500DRW, so it's somewhere in there. It is closer to the DRW in terms of capacity.
Suspension is rated for 12K
Axle is mfg. rated for 10.8K
Rear tires are rated for 9.9K combined
Rear wheels are rated for 9K
Wheels are the lowest #, so that is what I go by.
Stock 2500HD SRW RAWR is 6.2K
Stock 3500HD SRW RAWR is 7K
Stock 3500HD DRW RAWR is 9.3K
Numbers all rounded, obviously.
Fully loaded, we run a little under 7.5K RAW and just under GCVWR. It's way more stable than the springs ever were, even when I was running them well within spec. - IdaDExplorerI debadged mine for aesthetic reasons and much prefer the cleaner look. Only thing I left is the C on the fenders. One of the things I like about the current generation Rams is how easily they can be debadged and once you do it you get a very clean looking truck without any silly plastic vents or other junk.

The problem I see is kicking tires on the dealers lot. One does not know which tires to kick, therefore you have to enlist a sales person, who may or may not know the there are 2500HD and 3500 SRW trucks. And ask stupid questions like why do you want a 3500, I have all these 2500HD according to my inventory sheet. Chris
So, looking to replace your Ram already?
The Denali, All Terrain and High Country will not have the payload identifier badge on the side of the truck.
If its got 20" wheels its a 2500
If its got 18" wheels and a overload spring in the rear its a 3500
If its got dual rear wheels, well I hope I don't have to explain that one.;) - ktmrfsExplorer II

Not on my 2015 GMC Denali. At least on the Denali trim, no emblems for 2500 or 3500. Me Again wrote:

I love Truck shopping on a Sunday ! Nobody to bother me.. Once I have ALL my info, I then start talking- Rich1961ExplorerOne way to tell the difference between the GM 2500HD Diesel if it has the optional 18" tires, and the 3500 SRW is the upper overload springs. 2500HD does not have the upper overloads.

Nope. I have noticed that lately also.
