Personally what I would really like to see happen in the HD diesel segment is improvements to the emission systems that are currently plaguing the reliability of these trucks as well as killing fuel mileage. Alternatives to DPFs and lowering the total cost of ownership of diesel engines would get my attention. A few more HP/TQ means nothing to me as I can easily get that and some with a tuner...
