GM slide out tow restriction

2016 GMC Sierra 6.2l with max tow pkg rated to tow at 11,700lbs. Label in the glove compartment next to options label states a recommendation not to pull a camper with a slide in feature. I pull a Ulta light with slide out, dry at 5400lbs, loaded at about 7000lbs. This must be related to GM liability and/or warranty? Anyone have background on this curious label.

I've pulled my trailer with a Yukon Denali rated to tow at 7900lbs, there was no such label in the Denali.
  • DUH! "Slide IN" said it all. My brain registered "slide out". Thanks everyone.

    Happy Trails
  • What is the exact wording? I'm guessing it means you can't use the truck for hauling a slide in camper. A camper that slides into your pickup bed.

I wonder if that is referring to a truck camper, not a trailer?? Can you post a pic of the sticker?

I would agree, I think it's for a truck shell. I had a '15 GMC max tow and I'm pretty sure that's what my sticker said. I don't recall a restriction on the actual travel trailer.
