GM to cut powertrain warranty to 60,000 miles

So at the end of the day it seems they're scaling back the warranty because it didn't help sell cars? I'm struggling to figure out how this will help them sell more cars, especially after the whole recall debacle. They really did a bad job of marketing that warranty over the years which may explain the lack of interest. I didn't even know the 100k warranty still existed. Thought it died with old GM. Hyundia and Kia boast about how their warranty beats out competitors in all of their ads and that draws a lot of business in for them.
