Good air freshners

Howdy to all you guys and gals.
The wife and I are going in June to a favorite campground and have a chance to buy a travel trailer for a grand or less. He has a few to choose from. We haven't saw them yet.
Just planning ahead how do ya give a trailer a good deodorizing. They been sitting for a few years. First thing is new carpet. Set off a few bombs in case of any critters. Then to make is smell good.
Thanks to all you amazing folks for the info contributed to this forum.
God Bless †

Plus, they are so simple to use that even a Caveman could do it - right? :P

OP - hope you plan on checking the tires, and even consider replacement.
  • I'm a fan of washing it with bleach and or Dawn, clean it properly and it won't stink and you won't have to "MASK" those odors with oils and jams or whatever masks odors.
  • We bought our first TT last summer. It's about 14 years old and had been sitting for awhile so it had a funk to it. We ditched the mattress and the fabric valances, shampooed as much of the soft areas as possible and used vinegar and baking soda to deodorize the cushions. (http://www.walnutridgerv.com/cleaning-foam-rv-cushions/) With the windows open for a couple days everything was much fresher.
  • We have a small ozone machine that is designed to remove odors. I have worked in property management and hotels for years and these are used when smokers smoke in non smoking rooms or areas with bad pet smells. Gives it a new car type smell. I will run this in the spring and adds some Cab Fresh. I got mine on ebay for under $50 and it works anywhere. You don't need a big one. They are quite effective.

I'm with you, only with us its peppermint. Repels mice as a bonus.
  • I'm a big fan of opening all of the windows and vents and letting Mother Nature do her thing for a few days,
  • I am a fan of fresh air and spearmint oil. But each TT is unique because of its history.

    Good luck.
