Goodyear Enduance vs Maxxis 8008

Maxxis has a history and the Endurance is new so there's not much data. I've used Maxxis since 2005 and had good luck. One threw the tread at 5yrs but never went flat. Another got a bubble on the 5th year and I got a new tire through the Maxxis warranty for $36.Maxxis warranties against defects for 6 years. Not sure about the Endurance, but hearing good things so far.

If I had 16 inch tires I wouldnt use either,I'd go with a LT truck tire.You rarely hear of blowouts with truck tires. Just my 2cents.

I bet there is a very very small percentage of trailers running truck tires compared to trailer tires. That would be the reason you hear very little about truck tire blowouts.

The Maxxis' have been excellent for me both on my old 22' TT and on my current MC trailer. After having a China Bomb blowout I replaced all 4 on the TT with Maxxis and never looked back. I will never run anything else.

Have had both. Maxxis was very good with only 1 tire failing on me out of about ten tires (tread separation covered by warranty). The endurance tires I have now seem to be performing very well and they have been out long enough that I believe a good reputation is forming.
While I'm not a fan of GY for anything else, I would buy the Endurance for its reputation and its superior speed rating.

Maxxis ST8008 is a bit dated with its 65 mph speed rating ....and not all sizes has the nylon over lay under the tread. Over 30 rv website members have had issues with Maxxis ST tires however I would say any thing would beat a low quality OEM ST tire.

Endurance....Carlisle HD ....Provider ST tires would be a good bet for those that like ST tires.

My Maxxis with higher load range than required was losing the cap at just short of four years. No loss of pressure yet, just coming apart. America's Tire gave a free replacement (Goodyear) for the defect.

I moved to the 87 mph speed rated Endurance one year ago. Time will tell.

When I bought my current TT new, I replaced the factory China tires with Maxxis. After 5 years and many many miles, I just replaced the tires and went with Maxxis again. Zero problems at all. I know they are speed rated at 65 and I generally keep it between 65-68 when towing. Again though, I have never had an issue with them. I think as long as you check the pressures and not drive like a bat out of hell, either tire will serve you fine.

Any other swipes at China, libertyman? Any studies to back up your swipe?

While the tires are engineered to run faster than 80 mph, the company limits its speed rating to 65 mph, in accordance with agreements with the Tire and Rim Association. Exhaustive testing assures confidence in safety, but should not be considered a free ticket to pull a trailer faster than 65 mph. Traveling at greater speeds is unsafe and not encouraged.
