Got my weights finally

So on the way camping today i stopped and got my weights didn't get the rear axle, the label on my trailer say certified empty weight is 7720...lol but loaded ready to camp the scale say 7620 i think crossroads is a little off you think.

front axle 2920
GVW 7040
trailer 7620
gross 14680

label on truck
front axle 3765
rear axle 6084
GVWR 8800
combined 15500 from what i can find on a 1993 F250HD with a 460 auto

I know I'm close on the combined weight but it pulls good may look for a diesel soon, i think there just guesting at the weights i seen a trailer just
like mine on the lot before i took mine last year that said it was just over 8000 Lbs empty.
  • trailer was hooked up.

Generally you want 13 percent of the trailer weight on the tongue and 20 percent of the tongue weight is redistributed to the trailer axles via a WDH. Working backwards thru the math with the little info given gives a trailer weight of around 8600-8700 pounds. Add another 75-100 pounds for the WDH. That would give you a tongue weight of around 1100+/- pounds. Your truck weighs around 6100 pounds without the tongue, around 7100-7200 pounds with the trailer attached. Based on the numbers provided, you are under your trucks gross of 8800.

Why not weigh the truck without the trailer and get some solo truck only numbers? That way you can determine if you are unloading too much weight off your front axle.

No idea what you just said there.
  • Did you disconnect to weigh the trailer? If not you have to add the tongue weight back to it. May be more like 8600# or more ready to go.
