Grease bearings

Bought a new trailer last August and took it on a 4000 mile trip to Kentucky./ Only one short trip since (200 miles). Going on another 4000 mile trip next month. Should I grease the bearings again or will they be safe?
  • I have Dexter axles, and they recommend repacking the bearings every 12 months or 12,000 miles. Such an easy job, so I do them annually when I inspect and adjust the brakes.
  • You said "again" did you grease them once already? Check them when they are new to be sure and then again in about 30,000 miles or if it sits a lot, check them every 2 or 3 years. If the grease didn't get hot or run out then the grease is still there so it doesn't need more.
