Group 48 battery question

I have a group 48 battery in a 2007 Silverado 2500HD with a 6.0. It is the original battery and I am looking for a replacement. I have found that the group 48 batteries are not carried by many dealers. Has anyone used a group 24F as a replacement? I would like to purchase at Costco but they no longer carry that group. I have found the group 48's at a few auto parts store but they would have to order it. I would like a battery that I could get replaced (if a problem arises) while on the road at a store on the west coast and southwest. Any suggestions are appreciated.
  • I went with the Sears Die Hard Gold AGM size 48. No matter where you are, you shouldn't be too far from a Sears.

  • I have the same truck. I installed a Costco Group 24 Deep Cycle in the Aux. battery location. I had to have my main battery replaced this year and I had to get one from the dealer no one else had a Group 48. As I only use Delco or Costco it didn't give me much of a choice.
  • Your truck wont know the difference. You could just shop by general size, type, and cold cranking amps. You'll be just fine.
  • Deja batteries or interstate. You could also look at a marine starting or deep cycle.
