Happijac Motor Cover

I have one jack not operating, I checked the controller board, found a blow fuse to the failed jack motor..
Jack moves good mechanically with crank..

I removed the jack and motor assembly, with its little transmission attached, took the motor out of the transmission mount assembly after removing the gears..

The transmission gears are all in good shape.

I cannot move the motor shaft with my fingers and suspect it is maybe bearing trouble in the motor...

Does anyone know how to remove the actual round cover on the motor itself.

It appears to be just jammed down over the motor...

    Yep compressed air. Just a small couple shots in the bottom hole at about40-50 psi.

    Once you start removing them ea. year for maintanence. They'll start to fall off after about three years of doing this. They will fall off in the heat of a hot summer day. I put ss. clamps on mine now.

    I take the plastic cups off to squirt some oil into the lower bearing (THERE ARE TINY WEEP HOLES AT THE BOTTOM FOR THIS). That's where the rust starts because it can't drain. Oil the cups before you push them back on.

    Oh yes.... you should cover the motor heads during winter storage.

    Heat gun to expand plastic, then compressed air to remove. I found the correct size bearing at Grainger. I put a few drain holes in the bottom plate of the motor prior to assembly.

    There was a thread a little while back about this.....

    I think the person used compressed air and shot the air through the drain hole at the bottom of the motor. I think this did it for him.

    I sent 2 of my motors, last December, to Happijac for a rebuild. I think they charged $79 for each motor. They are 1/3 as loud/rough as my other 2. Maybe they use different motors now? But, worth the money IMO. They gave me 2 new motors and replaced the case on 1, it was cracked. They also adjusted the clutches.
