Hellwig and 3rd gen ram

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 4x4 qc drw cummins. I have been told by Roadmaster that their sway bar may not work if you have 5th wheel or goose neck hitch. Does anyone know if this is the same with Hellwig? I have tried emailing their customer service and tech departments several times but they do not reply. If you have this sway bar on this truck how did it work?
  • I cant imagine how it would come in contact with it.
I have a SRW and the Helwig. It's a nice improvement but I bought the smaller bar they offer and if I had it to do over, I'd get the "Big Wig" instead.
They both attach to the axle and then go towards the back of the truck and connect to the frame near the spare.
If it would help, I can take a pic of how it's mounted..?
  • I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 4x4 Quad Cab long bed. I installed my 5th wheel rails myself and my Hellwig. I also installed the Curt Hitch and Air Bags. I have the Goose Neck Ball adapter that uses the same rails as my 5th wheel plate. No problem with the install on any of them.

  • Thanks for the replies. That is the info I was looking for. I don't need the pics but thanks for offering. I have been waiting so long for Hellwig to reply the price has gone up. I should have asked here in the first place.
  • I had bigwig on my 06. Reese 5th wheel hitch slats in bed. No problems.
  • I installed the bigwig on my 2006 2500 with B&W turnover ball hitch with no problems.
  • Of interest, my tenant just purchased a Ram 3500 4x4 Power Wagon and I was looking it over and it has COIL springs in the back and it's a 1 ton. What gives with that?

Fine for him, he pulls a trailer. Not fine for me with a TC.
  • I think TxGearhead is right. which also answers to the question why it had the coil rear suspension. People have been known to change badges on doors and tailgate.
