Help with camper choice

DW and I are slowly narrowing our camper likes and dislikes in choosing our next camper.

We have seen my DS Bigfoot 24C10.4 and my father's Bigfoot 30C10.11. While looking at a Lance 1055 online today, it finally dawned on us it isn't the dry-bath of the two Bigfoot's we like so much as the dinette being across from the kitchen which seems to really open up the common area.

We have also figured that we don't want a slide because of where we travel on rough back roads (if you call them roads). Plus we often stop at angles and slide slopes where deploying the slide isn't an option.

So, question is, are there any other non-slide TCs with the dinette across from the kitchen, both of which must be in the rear of the camper?
  • The Bigfoot 25C9.4, the Adventurer 86FB and the Arctic Fox 865 if you can find one, have the kitchen/dinette across the rear and are non-slide campers. I don't understand why Arctic Fox only makes the 865 in limited production runs. If I had a long bed truck, that would be on my short list.
  • We were looking at these at one time for that reason, kitchen with dinette across at the rear.. but found many with the Center Dinette (CD Model)but few with the Rear Dinette for sale(RD Model).

We have the same truck and I also felt it might not be up to hauling the camper...

    RD Camper..
  • My 2003 Fleetwood 11X has no slide and the couch is across from the kitchen. The Lance 920 was a nice floor plan also arranged with a couch across from the kitchen, it was really open inside.
You might look for the older 9' and 10' Sunlight campers. I forget their exact models.
  • I'm mainly looking used, something built after about 2000. With a second daughter heading to college and upgrading my truck, just can't afford new even if I wanted one.
  • There aren't that many campers built without a slide, but you should be able to find a rear kitchen model. In that case, the dinette will be back there too. You might need a 11 1/2 model to find that, but look for older models.
