Hitch on camper

I have Premiere Bullet and would like to put a hitch on the back bumper to pull a golf cart. Frame width is 68.5 in. For those that have put a hitch on your camper how did you do it.
Thanks
  • Take it to a welding shop and ask them. Most trailer bumpers are not strong enough to support a bike rack let alone an actual towing hitch.

My Lippert frame is stout. The best one I have had on any of my TTs. That is because Sabre specified a heavy frame..

Nothing inherently wrong with Lippert frames. Just that most of the industry won't pay up for a good one.... And since Lippert builds most of the frames....... You get what you are willing to pay for.

Those are good for mounting bike racks or cargo carriers.

  • E-trailer has a couple options. There's a couple bolt on receivers that use the existing bumper, but you'd have to verify bumper strength yourself. They have a frame-mount option as well advertised for 5th wheels, but frames are generally the same width as TTs.
  • A further issue concerning double towing is your choice of using a travel trailer. Some states that do allow double towing do so only with 5th wheel trailers.
  • I took it to the dealer I bought it from and they fabricated a hitch. Check towing laws in each state you plan to travel through. Some do not allow double towing (Florida for one).
