Honda 2000 and AC and Microwave problems

Hooked up Honda 2000 to TT -- everything worked except the AC & Microwave won't come on ...

Is there a breaker or ? somewhere in the Tamarack Trail which is preventing this ... or what ...

The AC fan would run, but not the compressor, and the microwave won't show it is on ... no lights, nothing.

Good to hear. And since you already have the one Honda 2000 a second one will be more than enough for running everything in your trailer. And if you are out and don't need A/C you will only need to bring out the one generator. Make sure you get the parallel kit for them.

Whether any microwave oven may run properly with a 2K genset supplying power is hit & miss as it depends so much on the specifics of the oven. Our current Freedom Express has an Advent brand MW rated @ 900 watts ... I have no idea what it actually draws as I've never bothered measuring it but it ran fine with my Honda EU2000i powering the trailer, as did the Dometic MW we had in our previous KZ Spree. Anecdotal stories like this however really don't mean much as this doesn't mean someone else's MW would run equally well in similar circumstances. If powering a MW is so important get a bigger genset. 😉

hook to shore power and plug a tester into the micro outlet. I think you will find it is wired worng. When you power with the honda you do not have a neutral (normal) and a miswired outlet could be causing your symptoms. My honda will run my a/c if I turn off all sources of power drain, switch the fridge & hot water to gas and shut the off the convertor from charging the battery.

Thank you for all the replies and suggestions ... did go online for Honda Generators and found the 2001iS which sounds like the answer ... Thank you again for all the info ....

Since there is no such thing as a Honda "200lis" presumably you mean a Honda EU3000iS which is a completely different genset than your current Honda 2K genset. However, what has any of this to do with your microwave oven display not even illuminating? :h If what you're describing is truly what is happening you've got other issues and going to a larger genset isn't going to solve that. 😞

My fingers didn't follow orders again ... yep 2000iS ... BTW Hubby reset the circuit breaker ... yep microwave went on ... but looks like have to link two small gensets or go to the 3000iS for AC.

We have a very small microwave, and our Honda 2000 will power it, but it is not pretty -- the lights dim, the microwave struggles, and the generator races. We use the microwave about three times a year, at most -- DW loves microwave popcorn, so it is a rare and special treat.

I would not even try to run my A/C with our generator -- I don't want to hurt either one of them!

BTW we have a generator however it is in Oregon which is where we are in the winter, and it works for what we have down there to keep us warm should we lose power during the winter .. so did not know about the AC power needs .. Thank you. Shalom (Peace).

Definitely learned to go online and see what the difference in which one needed to run what we have onboard ... Shalom (Peace).

That happened to us in the one we live in ... and we were hooked to shore power ... quick fix with a new breaker/outlet .. voila ! fixed.

The light on the microwave should come on. This needs to be resolved. Unplug the microwave and plug in something else to see if the outlet is dead. You may have tripped the microwave circuit breaker in you panel.
