Host Rainier Weight?

Does anyone have any weight info on a Host Rainier SB, they list a base weight of 2995lbs but that seems kind of low for a triple slide.

My Host Mammoth was right on the money. 4276lbs It is a 3 slide also.

Is that dry weight with options, they list base weight at 3360lbs.

That is correct. With my option choices, my Mammoth came in at 4712 lbs dry.
  • I received this quote for a Rainier SB and figured it might help someone else looking for weight info. With the listed options the quoted weight was 3948lbs.

  • That was with my options. As I ordered it. I weighed it about 15 minutes after putting it on my truck. It was dry, 1 battery and 1 full tank of propane and 1 empty.

I believe that is a base weight. If I remember right, my '06 Double Slide 9 1/2 base weight was similar. The tag weight (dry) without water, batteries, propane with full options and two slides is 3571. Rough guess for the new model is probably around 3900 with three slides (dry).

I believe the Host numbers are pretty accurate. I was able to carry my current camper on a '06 F350 Supercab 6.0 PSD 4x4 long bed. On a SRW, you need to really pay attention to what you bring with you and avoid a full water tank which would add 500 lbs. You should also consider 19.5s which I had to add some buffer to the rear tire capacity.

With my current truck, I've been as high as 14400 and still under my GVWR. My F450 does weigh a lot more as well. That's bringing everything that we could possibly bring with extra water, mostly full holding tanks, etc.

Thanks that helps, I do have 19.5 tires but it looks a little on the heavy side for my currant truck.

  • I can't imagine one of those things ready to go weighs less than 4500 pounds.
I'd be amazed if it's that light.
  • My opinion (could be all wet) is that manufacturers list the weight of their units with nothing inside. Slides, yes, because it's part of the structure but nothing else and everything weighs something.

I think if they listed the actual weight (optioned out), they'd loose a lot of sales because the camper weight exceeds the payload weight of most trucks.

Passed a guy today on I94 with a big Lance on a long bed Chevy single rear wheel and it was doing the rear squats. I wondered if he had any idea what it weighed or if he had checked his tires lately...

Pretty sad when you have to buy it and then go weigh it and then find out you don't have enough truck to haul it safely.
  • I have no idea what that actual weight is. I was looking at it too.

Seems pretty light to me for the triple slides. But then again, that is with no options whatsoever.

Every one of the options they list adds weight. The question is, how much? They don't seem to list the weight of the options.
