Whenever we have bought a used vehicle we have bought extended warranty. Of the 5x we bought it we had claims worth well over the policy price.
We have had a new motor in one vehicle, new granny in another and various other repairs.
Once we had a dealer say...not covered. We were going to give the ok and sign saying we would pay the bill. While there another customer told us not to. The insurance company would not pay us back after we already did pay the bill. We called the ins company ourselves, within an hour it was sorted out and ins covered full amount.
I would get in touch with the insurance company as soon as possible and if still a no contact authorities that have been mentioned already.
