We watched RV Crazy and saw our first teardrop trailers. My expectation is that fuel prices will only go up (they have) and wanted something we could pull with our Subaru. Coming from a QC back ground I first studied what fails wood and rust and ours is an all aluminum frame and Filon skin.
The process from that looks neat to buying was about 2 years.
