How to determine transmission size and gear ratio on Ford TV

I purchased a 2002 Ford 250 Diesel with a 7.3 engine that apparently has a tow limit of 12000 lbs. This seems to be a little shy of what is necessary for a nice size 5th wheel camper with two slides....

My '02 F250 with 7.3L & 3.73 rear end & auto tranny handles our 10,500 lb 5er no problem and I would not hesitate to pull a 12,000 lb 5er. :)
