I gotta new truck too!

Bought our "03" GMC Duramax new in "02". Was getting to take longer to start and didn't want to get somewhere and be stranded. Knew it was time for an update. So I got new injectors! Never had new ones and though it only has less than 140,000 on it I figured it was close. Tested it was low on pressure And suggested by the GM dealer. They were lower priced than the Indy dealers what was a shock. They give a deal to the earlier trucks because they knew they were prone to failure. Started it up and it fired up almost instantly, and a lot quieter too. Purrs like a kitten. Good for another 13 years and no nasty payments or increased tax and license fees. The perfect new truck when you're FlatBroke. LOL. Oh, and the the 60 grand for the new truck it was parked next to when I picked it up made my new one look tons better too. :)

    My daughters boyfriend just went through this also, he was actually going to buy a new one to replace his 05 dmax. He ended up leaving with sticker shock and his old truck with a box of parts.
    truck just turned 200k miles and I think he plans to add another 100k before trading.

    Congrats ;) 150k is about right for injectors. You could have pulled them yourself and sent swapped them out but now you have a warranty on them.

    We are planning on leaving for the winter in Oct towing with our 05 3500 duramax dually and it runs and drive as good as the day we drove it off the lot in 04. Not even giving a new truck a thought but I am also not stupid enough to look or test drive any new truck.

    When you have a year that the injectors are skeptical but have been trucking along for 13 years it gets a little concerning. Hated to get down to AZ for the winter and have a real problem. They just love seeing us snowbirds come in for repairs. Pretty sure they wouldn't have gave me a discount and charged me the full snowbird tax. LOL

    I chickened out and when I saw my balance rates start to fluctuate and get close to the 4.0 mark, I traded my 01 for a 2015 Sierra. I did mine myself once and it was a PITA.

    Now I have payments again.

    Our winter next door neighbor in Casa Grande had the chev garage do his injectors last winter on their 03 duramax and felt it was $3000.00 less than his Canadian area.

    Nice ! Our truck is a 95 suburban 2500 diesel with 250,000 miles and gets me 19 mpg also have a 2000 suburban 210,000 miles and a 2000 gmc 300,000 miles and 99 venture 260,000 miles all in perfect condition and all PAID OFF !!!!!!!!! That feels the best!!!!!!

    I wish our 05 cummins injectors lasted more than 120k miles. I will say that our others diesels dating back to '95 have yet to have injectors replaced and that includes two 6.0 PSD powered trucks.
