Installed Fantastic Vent fan

I replaced the oem fan in the bathroom with a 3 speed vortex. The other vent fan is a Fantastic fan. I will say the vortex was less expensive, and an easy install since its designed as a retrofit, but it is louder...... I installed vent covers for both fans, a great upgrade for here in the rainy northwest.

Since Atwood acquired Fantastic Vent, it is my understanding that they no longer give away the parts. Only the plastic dome has the lifetime warranty and you pay the shipping both ways.

Still an excellent fan. I highly recommend the Fantastic Ultra Breeze hood to install over the fan. you can leave the fan open in the rain this way. The Ultra Breeze allows the dome to open further than other vent hoods and has a reverse bevel on the rear to do a better job of keeping out the weather. I like it alot.

2007 Winnebago View 523H on a 2006 Dodge (Daimler-Chrysler aka Mercedes) Sprinter 3500 chassis (T1N). I installed a Fantastic to replace the anemic OEM fan in the bathroom vent last summer. Smartest thing I ever did. I chose the thermostatically-controlled 3-speed model, with rain sensor.

In my opinion, a vent fan is a great addition. They are especially useful in the bathroom to pull moisture out when using the shower. My rig came with a vent fan in the bathroom, but I ordered and installed "Max-Air" vent covers on my rig so that the vents can be used even during rain.

If displacement "air flow" into the bathroom room is an issue (when power fan is on highest setting), simply remove bathroom door, remove 1" off its bottom and re-install the bathroom door. If trimming its bottom door edge isn't your thing, simply install vent covering (front and back) on the lower section of the bathroom door instead. Thus, allowing privacy and the ability for air flow replacement.

I replaced 2 of my vents with a Fantastic Fan and am glad that I did. The metal framework of the 2 vents was corroding away and would have begun to leak at some point in time. This was not visable from looking at it from the roof.

Ours has the thermostat, so it only runs if the inside temps get too high.

I don't think you need to let it run 24/7 while in storage.
If you have a vent cover, the open lid has allowed enough air to circulate for my trailers. Having a covered second non powered vent is very helpful to exchange air.

The other thing that happened to me was having the fan motor burn out.
It was explained to me by having everything closed up tight with the vent fan running. It caused the fan motor to labor and i think that caused the motor to burn out prematurely .
How i was taught to test it was too have everything closed up tight except the Fantastic fan vent.
Now with the fan on , open the entrance door and you can hear the fan increase its speed to normal speed.
If you hear the motor speed increase, things are too tightly sealed in the trailer. Opening that second non powered vent did the trick.

P.S. air is allowed to be pulled in through the furnace vent on some model furnaces but it was not enough air to allow the fantastic to operate in full 'zoom mode' . More air flow, like a second covered roof vent was needed .
