- kohldadExplorer IIIHave a piece of 3/4" foam under the bed and it made a little improvement. What made more of a difference was putting 1/2" foam board in the windows and 3/4 foam board in the roof vent. Still cold in the cab-over, but more tolerable. We also use a 0* oversized sleeping bag as a comforter and that was a HUGE improvement. Now I'm very warm during the night even when we let the camper go down to 55*.
- lpaulcarterExplorerThanks everyone! I already have enough of the interlocking mats to cover the mattress area so I'm going to try them first on our next camping trip.
- brholtExplorer IIA lot of places sell these interlocking "floor pads". For example:
interlocking foam mats
I bought a pack and easily installed them under the bed. They have worked well. - maddog348ExplorerReflectix ~~ Many years ~~ Tent trailers ~ ClassC ~~ ClassA ~~ TCPopUp. Learned it from using a heat reflecting mattress pad about 40 years ago.

I put 1" foam board under the mattress on mine. Seemed to help quite a bit also added a 12v heating blanket on it as well.
Used to do a lot of ski / camping up at Manning Park in BC till they raised the prices thru the roof.........
X2 - rickjoExplorerReflectix x 4. Thin and effective. Still have headroom. Memory foam mattress in addition makes an efficient combination.
- gitpicker2009ExplorerReflextix x3. I just added it last month and it made a huge difference. only 26 bucks for a roll big enough to cover the whole bed area under the mattress.
- starcraft69Explorer1" foam board did the trick for us Plus i cut some to fit the windows in the bed area. This worked really well for us and we camp a lot in the winter.
- jimh406Explorer IIII used Reflectix as well. We wrapped up the sides where the mattress sits and also lined the nearby cabinets.
- Buzzcut1Nomad III have a sheet of refletix under my mattress, it .works well and it is thin
