It is a GM weekend in our park

We did a very unscientific survey in our Park loop this weekend. It turns out for full sized pickups GM was the top dog followed by Fords and Ram.

The numbers;
10 Chevy/GMC
7 Ford
6 Ram
There was also a Suburan and several Nissan & Toyota SUVs towing small TT or Popups.
  • My results are similar.

    8 GMs
    4 Rams
    2 Fords
    2 Tundras
    Some vans and smaller SUVs
    Several motor homes.
  • Our park this weekend has very few DRW's which reflects more seasonal and occasional travelers. Heavy duty trucks are Ram, Ford and followed by GM. Light duty trucks are GM, Ford, Ram, Toyota and followed by Nissan.
  • Ha, I was noticing trends when I was walking the dogs this weekend. One loop near me had 10 vehicles. 5 Ram 2500's, a Ram 1500, a Ram van and a Jeep. The other 3 vehicles were Ford F250's. I tried to take a pic to show the disparity, but they weren't lined up in a way to get in one pic.

The rest of the loops were pretty balanced. It seemed I saw mostly Ford, followed by a lot of Ram, followed by Chevy (didn't see a single GMC) and then Toyota and a handful of Nissans.
  • Here's a trend I saw after two days running down I5 to Eugene and back. Most toy haulers were towed by lifted 3/4 ton Fords. Even the triple axle ones. And it didn't matter whether it was a TT or 5er TH.
BTW I've never seen so many THs on the freeway as I did last Thursday.
The general consensus though was that it's a requirement to have the front of the truck several inches higher than the rear.
  • What I saw was GM then Ram/Dodge then Ford. A lot of small SUV (GM then Ford)and Mini Vans (Honda and Chrysler were tied).

I think we had 3 Silverado 1500 HDs in the place. Very surprised.
  • There are 10 fortunate people at that campground! Luckily they made it there, hopefully they make it home! Junk GM and all! :B
  • This past weekend while traveling home from vacation I did notice a trend with what seemed to be the 99-2007 Super Duty SRW trucks. Seemed to be a lot of trucks that were towing a fiver with the rear ends jacked way high and what looked like front ends that were squished down.

Only thing I could figure is that these trucks had airbags and the owners are airing them up to "stock height but its shifting a lot of the pin weight forward giving them this strange stance. Not really sure.

    Thanks!
