Our jack knife sofa in our new TT is so uncomfortable for sitting in the evening that we need a different solution. If we'd have know how uncomfortable this couch was for sitting, we'd never have bought the trailer. We don't use it for sleeping so it can go but it sits on a box that houses the slide mechanics. We can't just pull it out and slide in a new love seat. We'd need to get chairs with no legs or something like that. Has anyone seen a DIY project like that or have any suggestions? I've searched the internet and the forums and haven't found anything yet. Thanks for any suggestions you can provide!

I have read other posts about jack knife sofas being uncomfortable to sit on. Perhaps if you identify the make and model of your trailer, you will receive detailed suggestions.

It may be almost impossible to find a no leg sofa replacement. I would suggest getting the cushions rebuilt with a higher quality foam.

It's a 2014 Hideout 23RKS WE. The picture upload wouldn't work on this TAB but if you google the name it comes up and you can see what I mean about it sitting on a box. :)

I turned our booth dinette into a couch with storage, and my wheel well housing box underneath.Like yours it was unusable.I took the cushions to an upholstery shop and had the foam replaced with a much denser one.What a difference. ellie007, I have been looking at sofas with legs that I could remove, but most have very short legs. I noticed SkiMore's comment about the office chair with a removeable base. That's a possibility. While we love our trailer it does not have much open floorspace so our options are limited. I do know there are custom furniture makers that will make whatever you want but they are $$$.

Kirk, ours is all tan. This won't be our last trailer now I'm afraid and I was kind of hoping it would last at least 5 years. I don't think we can do it unless we can get the seating figured out.

we havent taken it out yet but yep we love the layout. Just bought it about 3 weeks ago. Does yours have the gray couch in it? I really liked the wildcat maxx trailers they had but didnt want to spend that much. maybe in about 10 years we will.

Kirk, I sure did! The salesman tried to tell us we wouldn't be comfortable for our long winter stays down south but did we listen? Nope! Sure wish we had! Do you like your TT?

Ellie- you buy your TT at Canopy country? I probably looked at your trailer before I made my purchase. Ended up with a Springdale 24 foot from Russ Dean. similar to your hideout but has a deeper slide so more room between couch and table.

I really feel for you. We had the same issue. My husband and I pulled the bottom off of the sofa, replaced the foam with a thicker, higher density foam and have really felt the difference. Much cheaper than buying a new sofa.

We are bringing our zero grav chair in at night now. It's really comfy but it's hard to wrestle around to get it in and out. That just might be our chair though. It does fit pretty well in the corner where the sink is but if you decide you want a snack look out! Great diet plan I guess!

Not a permanent solution, but one that worked for us one rainy day was to bring our zero gravity chairs inside.

Actually most any sofa the legs can be removed simply.

True. I guess I should've said bottomless sofa. I doubt you can find just a sofa with cushions. Normally the base sans legs is part of the sofa.
