Jay Feather hybrid torn retaining strip

Hello, first post, looking for help. I have recently purchased a 2007 jayco Jay feather 17C ex-port, and as the title suggests, one of the canvas fold out plastic retaining strips is broken. Which means the bottom corner flops open when set up.
Has anybody had this problem? The RV dealers are eerily clueless as to what to do, so I have turned to the forums for help.
