I would take the wholesale/trade value average of NADA, KBB, Edmunds, and Blackbook and that should get you into a wholesale value. I would then add a certain margin to it for a private sale.
The problem is all of the pricing guides above are just estimates and I doubt a heck of these have went through auction recently. Usually with vehicles 10+ years old it really comes down to condition, service history, and you having what they want.
I think listing it on craigslist like you did is a great start. I would also do like I recommended above and list it on ebay classifieds. You could also go to a few small private used car lots that have older vehicles and ask what they would give you for it which will give you a good idea. You could pay to list it on autotrader or cars.com but then you are putting out more money.
