$800.00 dollars for doc fees!!!!!!!!!!!! A acquaintance of mine just purchased a 2016 GMC 3500 D/A and paid $96.00, and they even beat the local dealers price by $3700.00.

Also watch the "doc" fees on any of the dealers. $800 seems to be the going rate. Another local Ram dealer that initially had a OK price on the truck added on the $800 doc fee and a $500 interior protection package (Scotchgard in a can) and they would not negotiate on those 2 things. So you need to compare out the door pricing and not just what the truck costs.

I just contacted them earlier this week about a leftover 2015 2500. They had a good price on the truck. It was about 12k off on a Big Horn with a ~$57k sticker (that includes supplier/affiliate pricing and a couple other things). But they were $6-7k less on trade in on my truck than the 2 local dealers I checked with. So new truck was ~$2k cheaper, but overall deal was much worse.

I wasn't impressed with the customer service either.

You will need to pay personal property tax on the value of the truck. Once you pay
that tax then you can get it registered. If you are still a resident of NJ, you will pay the NJ taxes on the sale. When you make the move to NC, you will have to pay personal property taxes. I think the cheapest way, tax wise, would be to wait until you become a resident of NC that way you'll only pay sales & personal property taxes and registration fees one time and in one state.

We own property in NC already and will be putting the place here in NJ on the market this spring.

I was also wondering just how NC does their registration/value tax(???) on vehicles.

Do you pay more tax if you buy new from the dealer in NC, than if I bought in NJ and then I re-register it in NC?

Meant to add that usually, their internet prices or "bottom line" is really that...little to no negotiating the price lower....I know because I've spoken to them quite a few times over the years, trying to get a "better ideal"...

I've never dealt with the dealer OP is discussing...I've actually gotten a better deal with my local dealership, but have been dealing with them for 20yrs...so that probably helped some:)


I looked on their site many times, but it was rare I'd see EXACTLY what I wanted..It's also rare to see the 5er/GN prep package on their 3500 SRW & DRW trucks:h

They were one of the dealerships I shopped last week. Nothing great from my experience. All the local dealerships were within a few hundred of each other but all where
thousands more then the out of state dealership. Also it took numerous callbacks to each one if them and they only would come down $100 here or $100 there before arriving at their final offer. The best price was the first price I got at the out of state dealership. Didn't even try to get them to come down off the first offer as it was thousands less then the best local offer. II really wanted to buy locally but I couldn't bring myself to spend $3400 more for the same truck. Even taking in travel costs out and back I'm coming out of this with a lot of money still left in my pocket.
So I guess the moral of the story is that in my experience, you can get a similar deal from any of the local Carolina dealers. One isn't any better price wise than any other.
