Leaking on counter top. Repair or replace and how?

It is a cheap plastic faucet that was leaking under the base onto the couter top. I removed the handles finding all nylon or plastic parts which did not look repairable as my house faucets are. I did replace the 0 ring on goose neck with negative results. Have now removed the faucet which I believe is Utopia RV faucet. Purchased a regular 2 handle faucet from Canadian Tire with lifetime warranty on sale 50% off for $22.00 which I have installed with no changes in supply lines and is working great.
Your initial suggestion of just replacing with regular house faucet even though this might be covered under warranty was a great idea as we are trying to get going on a trip to the east coast of Canada.
