Kodiak Quality

My impression is that when Thor merged Kodiac and Keystone they destroyed whatever quality was there before. Today we are looking at Grand Design for our next.

Thanks for all the info. Even though I like the floor plans for the Kodiak, I think we will begin looking elsewhere. I'm beginning to think that we will look at the Jaycos once again.

I have a 2014 Kodiak 200 QB and we really like it. No problems so far. You could put any brand on here and get the same comments, buy what you like!

We just bought a new RV from a dealer in Pa which sells Kodiak, thought they wouldn't even show us one. They stated that they have had such troubles with them, that they are sending all that are on the lot back to the manufacture and no longer selling them. I was kinda dissapointed because there was a layout that I really liked and wanted to see. The salesman stated "believe me, you don't want one"

We have had a 242RESL for a few years and had no problems.We really like it.

Upon delivery back in June 2012, our dealer United RV in Ft.Worth noticed delam issues on the non-slide side and they weren't happy with the rubber roof installation (many spots around edges and A/C were sealed but sloppy). Also, a slide mis-alignment had caused a small tear in the vinyl floor. United worked with the factory and we were told to go ahead and use the trailer for the season.

Then in October 2012, I dropped it back off at United and Kodiak retrieved the unit back to the factory for warranty repairs. They replaced the entire side of the trailer that had the delam. They installed a new rubber roof that was perfectly and neatly sealed everywhere. The floor was completely replaced and the job they did was excellent. The unit was returned to us in January 2013 and Kodiak extended our warranty for another year.

We've had 2 more seasons and no issues since. I recently retired and now I'm looking to move up to a fifth wheel but this 242RESL has turned out to be such a nice couple trailer, I'm finding it difficult to think about making the move ;-)

We got a 2014 284BHSL in March. It's spent almost 60 total days in the shop now. The front and rear cap needed to be replaced because of delamination. We have delamination over the slide, the right half of the battery tray was only tacked instead of welded. The rear support bracket of the slide was also only tacked and not welded. Those are just the major things, we've had a slew of minor issues as well. I'm not impressed with the build quality of our unit but I'm glad to hear that it seems to be a pretty isolated case.

I bought the Kodiak 279rbsl from Skip Eppers in Punta Gorda. No major issues with it.

Thanks, we are looking at the 263RLSL. Is big enough to keep my wife happy but, I think, small enough to be towed easily.
