Lance 1172 Version 3?!?
Hello all,
I just attended the RV Show in Hersey, PA and just had to swing by and pass the time of day with the Lance rep. While we were doing so my DW asked about the jack-knife rear couch we'd seen references to but never seen. Well I'm glad to report I finally go to see it but on top of the modification to the couch they also made two more important modifications IMHO! First they moved the battery compartment from the rear of the Lance under the steps within the camper. This required the loss of the pull out storage drawer but put the batteries in a better location...again my opinion. But the big news is what it did to the empty space where the battery compartment used to be.....you might ask yourself what that was? Well it was the first Lance basement storage I've seen. Similar to what I've seen in other models, Lance put a two door compartment that had to be at least three feet deep or more and about the same in width, about two and a half feet high with a removable shelf. It was incredible!!
So if anyone is about to pull the trigger on a 1172 I would look carefully for this version as these were the answers/modifications to our 1172 that I would have said made the perfect camper! Unfortunately I was so blown away I forgot myself and didn't take any pictures. I've already sent an email to Lance asking if they could modify my current 1172 into a version 3 like I saw today....I'll let you know what I find out.
