My '97 F250HD Super Cab long bed 4x4 with the 460 CI V-8 and automatic scales at about 5900 pounds with full fuel tanks. Your regular cab should be a few hundred pounds lighter I think. I carry a Lance 1010, 3700 pounds with full water and propane, empty holding tanks, minimal gear. Have airbags, adjustable Ranchos, anti sway bars, 3415 pound tires. No problems in 10 years, a couple of coast to coast to coast trips. Also pulls my Jeep or my motorcycle trailer no problems (other than the fuel yardage - 16,000 or less (that sounds better than 9 mpg or less)).
