I hauled a '92 Lance Squire 3000 0n my 88 Ford F250 4x4 standard cab with the 8600GVW and other then upgrading the tires to load range E, I never did anything to the suspension. Truck weight was 5400 with a 351W engine and 5 speed. Camper was about 3000 pounds. I say go for it, you'll do fine with the truck.
