I found the problem.The frequency of the transmitter did not match that of the receiver.To fix take the back of the transmitter(remote unit)You will see a place that has a small flat screwdriver slot.It's really easy to see.Make a small mark to the side of the screwdriver slot to mark where you started before you turn your screwdriver.Turn screw slot slightly ( I mean SLIGHTLY)one direction.Stop and remove screwdriver and push up or down.Try a little more in same direction if no change and repeat.If nothing happens return screw slot back to the starting mark and go the other direction.Remember to remove screwdriver every time you try any remote buttons as screwdriver could mess with the frequency.Hope this helps it worked for me.
