Well Beckerton, you are headed in the right direction.
No 1: you put the images up on a Forum where people will give you good, unvarnished advice. And where you never have to worry about "holier than thou" folks tsk tsking over your decision making. No 2: You clearly want to find something cheap, but sound, and create your own environment. And No. 3: You sure take advice well.
Seems to me that you are meant for this TC lifestyle. Take a look at the thread I started on the Avion rebuilds to get an idea about the efforts to rehab classic TCs. There are other strings on this Forum for Amerigos (?) as well as people who are building from scratch. Believe me you'll find yourself welcome amongst this hearty crew.
