Latest on flex solar panels?

What is the latest experiences with the flexible solar panels. What type is best, how they are holding up. Thinking of gluing one down on my roof ...don't want to have it portable ..Plug and play and forget . Thx and appreciate comments/recommendations.
  • I glued a Renogy 160w over a failed panel recently. Works great. I would advise caution if gluing one directly on a roof. They get very hot.
  • I subscribed because I want to see if anything new pops up. I remember the issues of dirt gathering in the dimples and heat not being able to escape. Iirc AM solar company owner had a big rig covered in flexible with poor results. I believe the Winns did a review also.

Speaking of the Winns, they've got some on the front of their boat so they must not be too bad.
  • One of the YouTube RV channels I follow (I'm Not Lost I'm RVing) put 8 - 100 watt Suaoki brand panels on their trailer and every one of them failed within a few months. I personally wouldn't trust them if for no other reason the lousy warranty they all seem to have.
I like the fact that they are light weight and can be taped down without putting holes in the roof, but it's not worth it if they don't last.
