leaving fresh water in tank?

I drain every time,

I would think it would be best to leave it full with a little bleach in it.

We're on city water and I fill mine every time we get back. We go camping every two weeks so it sits that long before I drain it again. (we travel with about 1/3 tank).
I prefer to fill it because when you drain it there's still a quart or two of water in the tank and it's a lot easier for that little amount of water to get nasty then there is a whole tank of city water with the chlorine they add to it.
It's also nice to have and extra 40 gallons of drinking water around should an earthquake hit us.

We drain, too. Experience: 3 weeks, hot sun in central Oregon desert, using well water......Results: STINKY SEWER smelling water.....ugh! Never do that again!

If you are on city water its fine to leave the water in the tanks. With well water you could add some chlorine so you can keep water in the tank and then just drain and refill before your trip. I personally dont like leaving any of my tanks dry.

Opinions seem to be evenly divided between empty tank and leaving water in it. We are on city water here but it's from a well and very hard. There are low point drains on the freshwater system as well as the main gate valve drain. I assumed that I was completely draining the tank, but maybe not. Keep the opinions coming. I appreciate the input.

I drain.

I leave mine topped off with our city water full of chloramines.
I will first drain any water from unknown sources obtained while camping.

I will drain mine if the last fill up was from a questionable supply.
